Preparing for Santa's Visit

I get asked all the time by those hosting the party -
"What do I need to do to make this a Magical Christmas Memory for everyone?"

🪑 Items Required

  • Chair without arms – Sofas are fine, but please avoid rocking chairs.

  • Glass of water – No alcohol.

  • Spacious area – Santa needs room for his big boots!

  • Avoid direct heat sources – Fireplaces are lovely but can be too hot for Santa.

🎁 If Santa Is Arriving with Presents

  • Santa does not purchase gifts, but he’s happy to arrive with a bag full—just coordinate in advance.

  • Make arrangements beforehand to discuss gift logistics.

  • Use festive bags—no garbage bags, please! Santa has some Christmas-themed bags available.

  • Keep it light—loading bags is part of the visit, so limit the number of gifts.

  • One present per person is ideal, including babies to grandparents.

  • Store gifts out of sight—garage, patio, or any dry, hidden spot works well.

🎀 If Santa Is Giving Out Presents

  • Label gifts clearly with phonetic spellings on sticky notes to help with pronunciation.

  • Add a “B” (boy) or “G” (girl) next to each name to avoid mix-ups (e.g., Sam, Samantha, Michel, Michelle).

  • Distribute gifts at the end of the visit—once opened, children tend to shift focus to playtime.

  • Santa appreciates an assistant, though it’s not required.

  • Remove gifts for absent guests ahead of time. If someone is arriving late, set their gift aside.

📚 Book Reading

  • Choose 1–2 short stories in advance. Long stories can take up too much time.

  • Santa can bring a few books if requested, but please note—they’re heavy!

🚗 Parking Instructions

For House Visits:

  • Santa will park far enough away to keep his arrival a surprise.

  • If expecting many guests, consider asking a neighbor to lend their driveway.

For Paid Parking:

  • Reserve a spot for Santa to avoid delays, especially on weekends.

  • Prepay the parking and provide the ticket to Santa at the end of the visit.

🍬 Candy Canes & Goodies

  • Santa will not provide treats due to allergy concerns.

  • You may supply treats for Santa to hand out—just ensure they’re safe and clearly labeled.

💌 Payment

  • Place payment (cash or cheque) in an envelope. You may include a Christmas card signed by everyone.

  • Give it discreetly before Santa departs to avoid disappointing children.

  • E-transfers are accepted as well.

⏰ Tardiness

  • Santa will do his best to arrive on time. If delayed, he’ll contact you at the number provided—keep your phone nearby.

  • Please do not call Santa before the scheduled time—he may be busy at another visit.

🍪 Cookies

  • If you’d like to offer cookies, Santa will gladly accept! Please place them in a small bag. And thank you!
